Life coaching, executive coaching, success coaching, and to a lesser degree, mentoring, are all variations of a similar thing.

Essentially, the coach’s role is to be a catalyst – to ask questions and make observations from an independent and objective viewpoint to help you expand your thinking, broaden and question your perspective, find your own answers, make choices with clarity and discover fresh confidence and motivation to really go for it. We team up to brain storm about your life and where you want to take it. It’s a life improvement process in which you learn new skills and techniques to streamline your journey through life.

It’s like having a non-judgemental 'good angel' on your shoulder, supporting and encouraging you to reach your full potential. It’s all about inspiring, encouraging and empowering you to come to your own realisations – to clear away the clutter and confusion and access your own inner wisdom, so you can make positive changes with a clear sense of direction and achieve the outcomes you want.

Coaching is not counselling. Counselling focuses on personal recovery – primarily focusing on past experiences that impact on the now. While taking the past into account, coaching focuses primarily on personal development – the what, where, when, why and how that will get you moving more effectively and efficiently in the direction you want to go to achieve the results you desire...supporting you with tools and strategies for now and the future.

A large component of my coaching is Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). I am qualified as a life coach and as an NLP Master Practitioner.

My coaching responsibility to you

You will always be treated with dignity and respect. There is no hierarchy – I honour and respect your inner wisdom and your capacity or potential to create better results for yourself. We work together as a team and our shared goal is for you to achieve the results you want in your life.

I respect the confidentiality and privacy of my clients.

If at any point I feel that coaching is not benefiting you, I will say so. I will refer you to any other resource or coach if I feel it is in your best interests.

Your responsibility to your coach and to yourself

You are personally responsible for any decisions and actions you take as a result of coaching. This is your right, and the only way that is appropriate and effective. It is a process of self-exploration and self-determination.

You are the only one who can decide to take action, and then take it. I will walk beside you as you progress along your path, but I cannot walk it for you.

Sometimes the coaching process can feel exciting. Sometimes it can feel uncomfortable or challenging, which is a sure sign you are breaking out of old comfort zones that don’t serve you, stretching to new possibilities. Make a commitment to yourself to give 100% to your personal development and to the coaching process. By doing so, you are guaranteed to reap the rewards.
