Water stations like they have at festivals so people can refill their reusable bottles and therefore save the huge environmental problem of plastic water bottles.
For planet-friendliness in a multitude of ways, bamboo or hemp casings rather than the use of plastic for things like computers, printers etc.
Battery disposal... What about having bin collection points in strategic places like the various charity shops do? Maybe at petrol stations or other places selling batteries.
Newspaper sections in bought papers are often wasted, when the buyer is not interested (not looking for a job, car etc).
Newsagencies say it's impractical to split them because space is at a premium. Not a good enough reason! Why not have a clearly marked, multi level stack system and use up some of the air space above?
