Alba

Above: Way too funky a train not to do an arty shot!

Left and above: Sahayak is having a love affair with doors....and no wonder!

Maia comments that if she were ever to spend silly amounts of money on clothes (instead of the usual charity shop garb!) she could walk past most window displays very easily, but this one would suck her right in - just the kind of gear she loves :o)

Maia captures the medieval parade at Alba's truffle fair. 1000 participants dressed traditionally, even the bullocks!

Maia seizes the moment at the medieval parade at Alba's truffle fair.

Medieval celebrations at Alba's truffle fair include 'flag throwing' - here, Sahayak's brilliant photo also includes 'il duomo' - the cathedral where Maia was christened (a catholic!!!!) and the yellow building to the right is the house where she was born (where very loudly ringing cathedral bells were an hourly occurrence).

Good food in Italy is fairly standard, but a speciality of the Piemonte region, and a favourite of Maia's is 'insalate di carne crudo' - literal translation and exactly what it is, a raw meat salad! Sounds disgusting but it's really yum - Maia's assessment not Sahayak's!

Some creative inspiration from Sahayak...slow shutter speeds with some slow zooming creates multiple images of these window manequins in Alba.

More creative inspiration from Sahayak - funky effects with the street lights in Alba's historical centre.

Maia stood in the same place as she did 12 years ago to capture yet another lovely shot of the main street of the old centre of Alba, and the Church of Maddelena.
